Market Surveys for Emerging Agri-Business Startups and Enterprises

Project Introduction

The survey was conducted to evaluate farmers' experiences with the Agritech app and gather insights for enhancing its usability and effectiveness. A total of 368 farmers from 291 districts across multiple Indian states participated, providing real-world data on how the app is integrated into agricultural practices. The study aimed to assess the app’s impact on crop health management, pest identification, and overall decision-making in farming. By analyzing user experiences, the survey sought to identify strengths and areas for improvement. The findings will guide refinements in app features, ensuring better engagement and practical utility for farmers.

Way of Analysis

A structured questionnaire was designed to collect data on user demographics, app usage patterns, and feedback on its accuracy and effectiveness. Responses were gathered from farmers with diverse educational backgrounds, occupations, and crop preferences, ensuring a comprehensive dataset. The data was categorized based on key parameters such as age, location, literacy level, and farming experience to understand user diversity. Statistical evaluations measured critical factors like user satisfaction, effectiveness of disease detection, and the accuracy of app recommendations. Insights derived from these analyses were used to develop targeted recommendations for improving the app’s performance and usability.

Key Findings

The survey revealed that a 65 percentage of farmers benefited from the app, particularly in pest identification and disease management. Many users found features such as fertilizer recommendations and community support helpful, but concerns were raised about the accuracy of certain suggestions. Farmers in remote areas reported difficulties with app accessibility due to limited internet connectivity, highlighting the need for offline functionality. Language barriers were also identified, with a demand for additional regional language support to improve user experience. Overall, while the app has proven valuable, refinements are needed to enhance its reliability, accessibility, and practical utility in diverse farming conditions.

Conclusion

The findings demonstrate that the app has played a crucial role in assisting farmers with crop health management and agricultural decision-making. However, key areas such as improving recommendation accuracy, expanding language options, and optimizing offline accessibility require attention. Addressing these challenges will help strengthen the app’s effectiveness and adoption among farmers across India. Enhancements such as integrating real-time market price updates and enabling better trader connections could further expand its value. With targeted improvements,This app can evolve into a more comprehensive and indispensable tool for modern agriculture.
